John Howard Society of Durham Region – Clarington Office
The John Howard Society of Durham Region is a non-profit charitable organization that has served Durham Region for more than 50 years (Registered Charity #107542615 RR 0001). Its Clarington office at 132 Church St in Bowmanville delivers evidence-based prevention and intervention services for individuals and families, organized around three pillars of support: individual counselling for stress, conflict, communication, parenting, substance use and grief; employment services including job search, skills training and employer matching; and housing services that help people find and keep affordable, stable housing. Most services are free thanks to government and community sponsors. Guided by its vision of a Durham Region where everyone contributes to a safe, healthy and just community, the organization works to reduce the impact of crime and its causes through community-driven programs.
